Job description for Pulmonologist/ Critical Care Specialist

The clinician should be a board certified/board eligible pulmonary critical care specialist who will be dedicated to caring of CareMore patients both in the inpatient and outpatient setting. The scope of this practice will include patients with acute lung disease, chronic lung disease and patients who are critically ill requiring management in the ICU.

Inpatient Responsibilities

The clinician will be responsible for performing all pulmonary consults requested by CareMore extensivist or contracted physicians who are taking care of CareMore patients. The clinician will perform all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures that may be required in managing patients with acute or chronic pulmonary issues. The clinician will also be the designated critical care physician for all CareMore patients in hospitals where a critical care consultation is required in the ICU. The pulmonary/critical care specialist will be responsible for arranging their own coverage on nights, weekends and holidays when the clinician is unavailable.

Outpatient Responsibilities

The clinician will be responsible for following CareMore patients in the clinic who have been referred to the clinician for management of chronic lung disease and or new consultation. the clinician's clinics will convene 3 half days a week. The clinician will also supervise the pulmonary Advance Practice Clinician (Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant) assigned. Together they will be responsible for organizing the strategy for the market to meet all HEDIS measures that apply to pulmonary patients.
