Accountability:  This Position Reports to the Purchasing Manager

Job Description/Duties:                                              

·         Utilize demand inputs, along with supply planning data to maintain an inventory and replenishment plan to support Sales Orders and Lead Time Programs

·         Initiate the sourcing process including analysis, negotiation and selection

·         Apply knowledge of buying components and tooling including multi-level sourcing to injection molded plastic, machined parts, sheet metal, stampings, electronics, silk screening, assemblies and hardware

·         Utilize analytical concepts and tools to identify issues, resolve problems, and support supply chain planning metrics

·         Analyze complex forecasting data and implement procurement strategies to support requirements

·         Manage timely resolution of part sourcing, quality and pricing issues affecting supply

·         Process changes to purchased components and assemblies as indicated in Engineering Change Orders

·         Analyze and Report on Slow Moving/Obsolete inventory

·         Assist in cost reduction efforts to achieve “best-in-class” supply costs

·         Serve as a member of cross-functional product development team which brings new products to market

·         Process defective/rejected parts for return to supplier

·         Compile data for Supplier Scorecards in order to measure their performance and conformance to  requirements

·         Assist with International Sourcing efforts

·         Assure compliance to policies and procedures

Job Requirements:                        

·      Career oriented, independent, self-starter with 2-4 years experience in material planning and/or purchasing of the following:  injection molded plastic, machined parts, sheet metal, stampings, electronics, silk screening, assemblies and hardware

  • Excellent analytical skills – must be capable of collecting, assimilating and synthesizing planning data and converting it into relevant business information

·         Must be able to work to budgets and multi-task in a demanding timeline driven environment

  • Must possess knowledge of Product Life Cycle
  • Attention to detail, accountability and desire to grow professionally
  • Excellent people and problem solving skills
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic hands-on environment
  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain or related field or equivalent experience
  • ERP proficiency – Intuitive and/or Visual software a plus
  • Able to perform basic mathematical computations
  • Able to understand and implement  Verbal and Written Instructions
