One Step Retail Solutions, a leading value-added reseller specializing in retail business systems and point-of-sale, is looking for a Purchasing Associate or Accountant with some experience in purchasing for our busy Finance Department. With headquarters in Phoenix, AZ and offices in Glendale, CA and New York, NY we have been successfully bringing technology to the mid-tier and large-tier retailer for over 20 years. We are looking for an efficient and extreemly well organized individual that knows Great Plains Account Software from an accounting role and/or performed purchasing functions within the software. Because we are a technology services company, any experience or familiarity with computer hardware or software for retail point-of-sale (POS) or familiarity with the retail environment is helpful. To facilitate delivery to our customers, you will work closely with our Technical Services department to coordinate the supply of our customer demands.
You will be responsible for maintaining our hardware stock levels, responsible for purchasing, coordination and supply of all hardware and software equipment for our locations in Arizona, California and New York. You will be responsible for receiving, verifying and fullfilling purchase orders and assisting in maintaning inventory.
Duties for this position consist of the following primary functions:
- Use previous Great Plains software knowledge and experience in accounting/purchasing to process purchase orders, clarify unclear terms or items and recommending alternatives when applicable.
- Coordinate with the Technical Services department on product delivery, prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and price, obtaining approvals on purchases.
- Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers, monitoring and expiditing orders.
- Negotiate with and work with vendors to obtain the best possible rates.
- Maintain databases and files with accurate inventory/product codes.
Requirements include:
* Great Plains Accounting Software experience
*Computer literate for use of other internal software applications
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* High degree of responsibility and high energy
* Strong negotiating skills
* Strong customer service and organizational skills
* Purchasing or Accounting experience
* An understanding of retail operations is a plus (such as ringing sales, receiving and physical inventory)

Salary is $14.50-$17.00 an hour, depending on your applicable experience. After three months full-time employees also qualify for health, dental and life insurance benefits and a 401k program.
