A leading Food Distributor is looking for an experienced purchasing agent.

Must have knowledge in purchasing of packaged food products, foodservice items, and related products.

Daily review of products and forecasting. Knowledge of market trends and able to react in an expediant manner. Management of multiple categories and inventory turns.

Must be experienced negotiating with vendors and product costing.

Provide purchasing planning and control information by analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

Exellent communication and computor skills a must. Experienced in Excell and Microsoft Word required. Access a plus but not a requirement. ERP software experience preferred and familiarity with AS400 system.

Candidate will work with multiple departments including Shipping and Receiving, Sales, Payable, IT, and Marketing.

Educational requirements;

Bachelor or related business degree
