Prepares and evaluates information related to parts lists, requisition purchase orders and receivers involved in the procurement of material by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Verify description and specifications of parts lists, requisitions, purchase orders and receivers.
2. Verify inventory to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity.
3. Consult catalogs and suppliers to obtain product or service information such as availability and delivery schedule.
4. Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates of suppliers.
5. File records of items purchased and received involving price, quantity, delivery dates and quality.
6. Confer with suppliers concerning delivery dates, tracking numbers and late deliveries.
7. Other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Experience
1. Computer experience required.
2. Purchasing, shipping and receiving experience considered a plus.
Skills
1. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, parts lists and drawings.
2. Ability to speak effectively with other employees.
3. Ability to communicate on a professional level with outside vendors.
4. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
5. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit; use hands and fingers; lift parts or boxes weighing up to 50 pounds; reach with hands and arms; speak and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
