Description

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing of activities surrounding the procurement of all goods, services equipment and materials required for: the daily operations of the company, for capital, O&M, and repair projects as appropriated, and for new development.  

 

  • Strategically partner with the business groups to procure highly technical services and materials for the Renewable Power industry.
  • Develop RFIs, RFPs and RFQs.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with contractors/vendors, including long-term contracts.
  • Provide analyses and recommendations to support purchasing and contractual decisions.
  • Meet with vendors to obtain information on products and services and to cultivate effective relations.
  • Work closely with project management to ensure efficient and consistent procurement practices through all stages of the project.
  • Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders
  • Maintain contract files and purchase order files and appropriate tracking system.
  • Stay current with market requirements, resources, pricing and trends
  • Willingness and ability to travel


Required Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with established, recognized procurement practices, methods
  • Experience in competitive/non-competitive bidding and negotiation procedures
  • Ability to review contract/procurement documents and evaluate bids and proposals
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and automated procurement systems
  • Ability to effectively and professionally interact with staff and vendors/contractors
  • Positive, proactive approach to changing procurement methods and company practices
  • Excellent written and oral communication skill


Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management or related field.
  • MBA preferred
  • CPM, CPPM, SPSM, or APP Certification preferred
  • 5+ years experience in Power, Construction, Petrochemicals or related fields
