Purchasing Coordinator

About the Job

First American Payment Systems a leader in the credit card processing industry is looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to control the purchasing function for the business. This position will be responsible for directing and overseeing First American Payment Systems’ purchasing function. It will also act as the primary liaison for the business by working with internal and external customers with their purchasing needs. This position will report to the Vice President of Cash Operations. The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

 

Responsibilities:

·          Direct and oversee the purchasing function for the organization by acting as the “control point” for purchasing needs.

·          Develop policies related to the procurement of goods and services and manage the purchase order process.

·          Manage the procurement process through strategic sourcing for operating supplies, maintenance contracts, repeat purchasing and capital goods and services and ensure the purchase process is completed in a timely manner.

·          Act as the primary liaison for the organization’s vendor relationships.

·          Maximize economies of scale by negotiated shared service rates to be used within all business units.

·          Research purchasing discounts and usage discounts that could be utilized enterprise wide and establish “preferred” providers for the enterprise to capitalize from.

·          Provide billing review for all purchases throughout the organization.

·          Be a key player in the budget process to ensure proper reporting of expected annual purchases.

·          Develop and implement an enterprise wide purchasing queue through the use of the internal IT Request System.

·          Provide assistance to internal customers with their purchasing within their department by negotiating the best possible price and service agreements on goods and services.

·          Negotiate blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitor the costs during a set time period.

·          Perform work with a constant awareness of improving processes necessary for positive outcomes.

 

Requirements:

·          Bachelor Degree in a Business Related Field (preferred).

·          5+ years experience in a purchasing position required.

·          Experience in negotiating contracts for goods and services with external vendors.

·          Ability to communicate (written and verbally) professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.

·          Must be self-motivated, dependable, responsible, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a multi-task business environment.

·          Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).

·          Highly developed analytical and interpersonal skills and must recognize the importance of professionalism.

·          Excellent math aptitude, proofreading skills and attention to detail.

·          Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines.
