Purchasing & Logistics Manager, Mfg HQ in SouthEast US w/Latin American Operations

This is an extraordinary management opportunity with a stable and highly successful privately held manufacturing company that has a track record of increasing revenue and growth. Located in a highly desirable South Eastern US location, we are seeking an experienced procurement, supply chain management, and logistics professional for the US Corporate Headquarters. With several manufacturing facilities in Latin America, multi-country Latin America regional experience is highly desired. Must be fluent in Spanish and English.  Candidates with relevant background negotiating polyolefin and polypropylene  purchases is preferred and/ or experience dealing with agricultural, commercial or industrial plastics products will be considered.


 


Reporting to the President, the Purchasing and Logistics Manager will be responsible for:


 



  • Negotiating strategic raw materials purchases with suppliers to achieve optimum pricing, volumes and availability based on forecasts. 
  • Managing vendor relationships
  • Inventory Management
  • Reviewing Market Intelligence and informing management of dynamics and forecasts, tracking market price data
  • Working closely with production management and product development vendors; identifying new materials for possible development and cost effectiveness.
  • Maintaining good relationships and communication with R&D and plant operations to respond and support their needs
  • Establishing  and maintaining  SOP’s for department (customer service, credit, logistics, supply)
  • Supervising purchasing and logistics personnel
  • Supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes developing costs of future resins, logistics and service costs

 


Desired experience and attributes include:



  • Bachelors degree in business, finance, supply chain or operations management
  • 5 or more years progressive experience in procurement supply chain management and logistics
  • CPM or CPIM a plus
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Relevant background in negotiating PE and PP purchases
  • Practical experience with relevant IT systems, Visual Manufacturing a plus
  • Multi-country Latin America region experience
  • Planning and negotiating skills, ability to analyze and improve business structure and processes as well as provide leadership to direct reports
  • Collaborative and flexible style, strong service mentality
  • Ability to travel
