PURCHASING MANAGER JOB OVERVIEW:            Flow Design is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and professional individual for the position of Purchasing Manager.  This position will be responsible for the coordination of US and international procurement for FDI goods, services, parts and materials for our manufacturing facility in Dallas, TX. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ø  Purchasing of FDI goods, services, parts, and materials in support of Flow Design operations.

Ø  Negotiate with new and existing vendors to define the most appropriate payment terms, cost, delivery schedules, service agreements, warranties, etc.

Ø  Coordinate purchasing activities with operations/production/manufacturing to maintain inventory levels, both short and long term.

Ø  Identify reliable sources of supply, issue requests for bids and proposals from vendors, and negotiate best terms.

Ø  Conduct vendor audits to ensure compliance with IMI vendor policy.

Ø  Track all purchasing orders and resolve problems related to delivery, quality and service.

Ø  Conduct frequent purchase price cost analyses to ensure competitive cost of goods.

Ø  Manage supply chain to maintain lowest cost of ownership.

Ø  Work effectively with other purchasing personnel within IMI and follow the company’s purchasing strategy, policies, ethics, and guidelines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 

Ø  At least 3-5 years of purchasing experience  in sourcing parts, supplies, and materials-- preferably in a manufacturing environment (HVAC parts a plus).

Ø  At least 3-5 years experience managing vendor relationships to achieve low cost procurement, both internationally and in the US.

Ø  Strong negotiator with the ability to control and reduce costs, and negotiate shipping logistics and delivery schedules.

Ø  Experience in formulating purchase price based on material cost and currency fluctuations.

Ø   Project management experience and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

Ø  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.

Ø  Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills are a must.

EDUCATION REQUIRED: 

Ø  Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in an engineering or business discipline

Desired:              

Ø  Certification in Purchasing is desired.  A CPP, CPPM, SPSM, or CPIM certification is a plus.

Ø  Experience with process cost improvement and manufacturing techniques is desired.
