Job Overview


Manage purchasing and logistics for the Schar U.S. business unit, a division of Dr. Schar, a gluten-free food manufacturing company based in Italy (www.schar.com)

Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of three (3) years experience in purchasing and/or logistics
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Software
- Knowledge of German or Italian (advantage but not required)



Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Forecast and purchase all related products and materials insuring strong service level
- Coordinate outside storage and logistics process
- Negotiate and coordinate importing and transportation of product
- Participate in planning process for supply chain issues and achieve identified goals
- Source potential suppliers for new and existing products in conjunction with the corporate team
- Negotiate pricing and agreements with suppliers
- Fiscal/budgetary accountability for the supply chain area



Core duties, tasks and activities
- Forecast product, place orders, track product and verify delivery and count
- Monitor and maintain sufficient inventory levels in the warehouse(s)
- Prepare monthly reports on service level, inventory and sales
- Bid and coordinate inbound logistics with shipping companies and custom brokers on a regular basis
- Verify all logistics invoices and related documents
- Serve as key contact with suppliers, warehousing and corporate supply chain
- Manage the pallet exchange program
- Negotiate pricing and purchase ingredients and all related materials for U.S. production facility
