This leadership position requires an individual to inspire and equip the purchasing team for success in reaching top company objectives and live according to the company’s core values. A thorough knowledge of Purchasing and Supply Chain management in an electronics manufacturing environment is necessary. While rapidly developing a familiarity with customer, products, manufacturing processes and existing suppliers the Purchasing Manager will lead purchasing efforts to improve on-time delivery, total material cost reduction and quality of all products and services.

The job requires getting things done quickly and handling a variety of activities. Self-assurance, and the

confidence to purposely drive toward results while constantly problem-solving and engaging the

commitment of others is essential. A leadership style that is firm and goal oriented, and yet motivates,

trains, and engages others in an enthusiastic way are important. The emphasis on building rapport and

relationships with individuals and groups require an outgoing, poised candidate.

Essential Functions:

·          Develop purchasing strategy in support of Datron’s business objectives.

·          Drive strategic supplier selection to develop long-term partnership agreements.  

·          Lead initiatives to meet strategic and operation measures, and objectives.

·          Develops a matrix, and monitors the cost, schedule, and performance factors of major subcontractors.

·          Apply professional procurement & MRP techniques, requiring in-depth judgment, follow broad verbal and written direction.

·          Effectively interact and collaborate with other managers in Production Control, Stockroom, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Sales Administration and Accounting Departments.

Qualifications:

·          Bachelor’s degree and further education in supply chain management or Purchasing Management.

·          10 years experience in the purchase of both raw material, and components in an electronic manufacturing environment with experience in international sourcing.

·          Minimum 5 years management experience in leading, coaching and mentoring staff.

·          Certifications from ISM or APICS preferred.

·          Sound understanding of ERP / MRP based material control systems.

·          Must possess a strong background in Supplier/Contract negotiation and execution.

·          Must possess good communication skills both verbally and written.

·          Proficient utilization of MS Office tools.
