Leading food manufacturer located in Northern New Jersey is conducting a search for an experienced
purchasing manager. Seeking qualified candidates with strong
negotiating, commercial, analytical, and organizational skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for sourcing, negotiating, qualifying and purchasing all ingredient and packaging materials for company operations.
• Identify and implement improvements in purchasing policies, procedures, and systems.
• Develop
  and propose annual procurement budget, including cost savings
  plan. Monitor and track performance to plan. Provide budget updates as
  requested.
• Establish continuous improvement objectives with key vendors. Drive cost savings opportunities by vendor and by quarter.
• Support the Company's new product development activities. Source new items that will contribute to company profit.
• Track economic market conditions and indicators that affect the finished prices up or down on material supply costs.
• Support production schedules and achieve just-in time inventory objectives.
• Monitor vendor performance to procurement terms and performance standards. Conduct annual vendor evaluation.
• Work with managers to develop purchase specifications.
• Develop contingency plans to insure supply security of materials.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years direct purchasing management experience
• Delivered significant procurement savings to company operations.
• BA or BS degree preferred.
• Experienced negotiator with strong business ethics and good business judgement.
• Demonstrated supplier management skills.
  
• Very good planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
