QA Engineer

Primarily responsible for creating detailed test plans, and leading various test campaigns for existing and new software/hardware components of the DISH Network Conditional Access System.

• Will constantly study application behaviors to obtain the ability to supersede requirements by thinking outside the box to create alternative test possibilities, scenarios and potential issues.
• Will participate in requirements gathering and detailed design reviews to ensure complete test case coverage, and guarantee that all requirements are met and data flows are accurate.
• Utilize software development and scripting skills to create repeatable and controlled tests.
• Other responsibilities may include: Assist in various operational CAS activities including deployment planning and execution, perform detailed monitoring and troubleshooting.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer Information Systems.

Experience

Some experience in the computer industry as a test engineer or software developer, or in the digital communications industry desired.

Skills

• Very analytical and thorough in tasks assigned.
• Self-starter capable of accepting various tasks and works them to completion with little supervision.
• Quick learner with good communication and documentation skills.
• Working knowledge of either C++, Java, Perl, PHP, or shell scripting preferred.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or Mysql.
• Some knowledge of computer networking - designing, configuring, and troubleshooting.
