Job Summary:

Lucernex is a software and consulting company located in Plano, Texas. We are looking for a team-oriented individual with a minimum of 3 years experience testing Web-based software products.  The successful candidate will have hands on experience with automated testing tools including script development using a coding language. The QA engineer will be a key member of our development group and involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including analysis and requirements definition, design, user documentation, and operational rollout to other teams. Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain test plans and specific test cases for each release cycle


• Write automated test scripts using QTP or a similar technology


• Execute automated tests as part of major and minor release cycles


• Organize and manage the testing process by:

1.       Properly documenting steps to reproduce

2.       Maintaining current status in the case management system

3.       Communicating required fixes, with appropriate detail, to the appropriate developer

4.       Verifying defects as repaired and closing cases

5.       Ensuring that the testing effort is on schedule

6.       Communicating and reporting on metrics related to the status of the testing effort

• Coordinate the development of documentation, such as release notes and/or user documentation


• Participate in the complete software development life cycle including analysis, design, and operational rollout of developed features

Skills Required:

• Hands-on experience testing Web-based applications for functionality, load, and scalability using automated tools


• Experience using automated tools to test application that use AJAX


• Understanding of testing enterprise software in Java, J2EE and XML technologies


• Experience developing automated scripts using some code language like VB


• Strong written and verbal communication skills, as exemplified by clear bug/issue explanations, documentation of product features, and effective one on one and group communications


• Strong technical skills including familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle methodologies


• Experience working with relational databases including MS SQL and Oracle including working knowledge of SQL


• Experience with Perl or other scripting languages a plus

Experience / Requirements:

• 3+ years experience in software quality assurance for web applications


• Familiarity with Financial applications including SAP/Oracle/Lawson is a huge plus


• Bachelor's Degree. BS in CS or related field preferred.
