Summary:
The Quality Assurance Engineer will work in a team environment to identify potential problems early in the software development lifecycle and assist in all aspects of the Quality Assurance process.  S/he will provide usability and testability input to the design process, design and execute test cases and procedures for specific components of a larger project, and will also review, maintain, and execute test procedures written by others on the team.  S/he will write clear, concise defect reports and verify fixed defects as assigned.  Additionally, the QA Engineer will work with Technical Support to resolve customer issues.

Required Education and Experience:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other relevant degree, or equivalent industry experience.
•    Minimum of five years experience in software testing and quality assurance, including firm understanding of the role of QA in the software development lifecycle.
•    Minimum of one year experience testing cross-platform, enterprise class, distributed applications.
•    Self-starter attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
•    Power-user level competency on at least one test platform with demonstrated familiarity with at least one additional platform (Windows Server, Solaris,Linux).
•    Experience installing an operating system from scratch.
•    Experience using one or more scripting languages (batch files, Unix Shell, Perl, Python, PowerShell, etc.) in software test automation.
•    Experience administering or testing with VMware Virtual Center, vCenter Server and/or ESX a plus.
•    Experience writing code, unit test code, and automated test scripts is a plus
•    Experience testing J2SE and J2EE applications a plus.
•    Experience with structured or object-oriented programming languages a plus (C/C++, Java).
