QA Manager
Job Description
We are currently looking for a strong technical QA director/manager with an in-depth experience in defining test strategy for system/solutions testing that meets customer needs and expectations. This position is located at our client's office in Alpharetta, GA.
This position manages the QA and Software Quality Engineering staff as well as manages all releases to be moved into production. Director of QA is responsible for administrative tasks for Microsoft visual source safe (manage users, create shares, version controls, etc) and management of HP Quality Center and QTP (manage users, create/maintain defect manager, etc.). This position will automate all testing and train other team members how to use WinRunner and Quality Center tools. This position is responsible for performing Quality Assurance functions by testing the company's software products to insure appropriate functionality of those applications before they are released to production. Creates test plans, automated test cases and design specifications to use during the testing process as well as the development process. Communicates with customers, employees and senior management regarding user acceptance testing as well as function requirements for all HealthPort software packages.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate Quality Assurance teams that consist of manual and automation testers.
- Responsible for defining and maintaining written procedures for executing each standard test plan and ensuring adherence to these procedures by all QA team members.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining software utilities, scripts, test plans, test cases and test tools used to facilitate execution of standard test plans for SW products.
- Represent QA team at internal development, status and project review meetings.
- Oversee initiatives to maintain and enhance quality compliance in adherence to the company's development methodology.
- Define and manage product specific QA teams to develop, execute and maintain the test framework and test scripts to support unit, functional, regression, performance, integration and system level testing.
- Define/manage plans to improve product quality, organization and implement those plans to be proactive in continually improving the test process.
- Collaborate and foster a positive environment with Product and Program Managers, development, test and documentation team members in all phases of application development at HealthPort.
- Responsible for owning the quality assurance processes and deliverables, and recommending future state processes and solutions.
- Utilizes superior change management skills to propose and implement key process improvement and adoption of best practices across all phases of quality assurance activities.
- Fosters positive relationships with clients while providing oversight of test requirement gathering, development, review and signoff of test plans & conditions.
- Leads the maintenance of a test harness, including data, transactions and expected results for each standard test plan. (Includes backend testing using Oracle SQL, HL7 interfaces, ADT messages etc..)
- Implement test automation framework for all software products developed by the company and custom Lawson programs.
- Responsible for staff hiring, goals and objectives, performance reviews, development, training, and mentoring.
- Provide strategic leadership and recommendations to HealthPort executive team to improve and maintain overall software quality.
Desired Minimum Qualifications
- Knows at least two programming languages (i.e., VBScript, C#, Java)
- At least 7 years QA experience with a minimum of 5 years in Management/ senior leadership.
- Automated testing tools; HP Mercury Test suite
- Experience with: VSS/CVS, Toad, Lawson, SQL
- Platform testing experience; Mac, NT, Unix, Windows 2000, Windows 98 and Windows XP

Education
A Masters degree or equivalent work experience.
