Job Summary

Develop, implement and maintain processes and systems to ensure all products manufactured within the operation meet customer specifications and achieve specified quality and reliability levels.   Oversee Supplier Quality, Customer Quality and Manufacturing Process Quality systems and improvements.  Manage the day-to-day activities of quality assurance department in support of our manufacturing operations.  Direct ISO-9001 systems and be the company’s Management Representative.  Lead continuous improvement activities for administrative, inspection, assembly and test processes.

 

 

Essential duties and Responsibilities:

·        Establishes and maintains reporting system of Key Process Indicators to track quality performance and Customer Satisfaction to provide visibility internally to employees and externally for customers.

·        Manages Document Control process, lead Change Control Board (CCB), and continually improve configuration management.

·        Manage and improve the RMA system, disposition hardware, initiate failure analysis, communicate with customers, reduce cycle times, and provide feedback to Suppliers/Manufacturing/Engineering for improvements.

·        Maintain ISO 9001 certification and continually improve integrity of systems including CAR and Internal Audit programs.

·         Implement and manage ESD control programs and Solder Certification programs.

·         Establish and document new or improved testing methods, processes, tools/gages and systems.

·         Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques including Waste Reduction, Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, and Flow Production.

·         Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques where applicable.

·        Evaluate suppliers to ensure that they have abilities and resources to support manufacturing and development including vendor site surveys and Quality Audits.

·        Manages the evaluation and qualification of parts, components, materials and products from suppliers and vendors.

·        Monitor supplier performance, and plans and recommends improvements.  Develop and implement quality plans and ensures that suppliers consistently meet and or exceed qualification requirements.

·        Perform Pareto analysis, Root Cause Correct Action, FMEA, Process Capability studies and experimentation to test product integrity and resolve quality issues before they arise.

·        Establish, implement and maintain a closed-loop quality issues resolution process that ensures

      that all identified quality issues are prioritized, assigned ownership and resolved within an agreed to time frame.

·         Responsible for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and merit reviews of QA staff members.

·         May require international travel to visit vendor sites.

           

 

Education and Work Experience

·        BSEE, BSME, or BSIE required.

·        Minimum of ten years of experience in QA engineering with at least five years of leadership experience.

·        Minimum five years in an electronics technology manufacturing environment.  RF/Microwave experience preferred.

·        Minimum three years as an ISO Management Representative.

·        High volume consumer electronics background preferred.

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

·         MS Office suite such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Outlook.

·         Familiarity with database tools.  SQL preferred.

·         Experience with Product Data Management tools.

·         Solder technology exposure to IPC-A-610.

·         Familiarity with Plastic Injection Molding, Die Casting, Metal Finishing processes.

·        Excellent knowledge of product development and design process.  Ability to build consensus on quality initiatives.

·        Excellent knowledge of the documentation process; thorough knowledge of documentation requirements. 

·        Excellent communication, leadership, organization, time management and problem solving skills.
