Responsibilities:
• Manage Quality Assurance programs for existing products with regards to documentation of test procedures, RMA handling, problem identification, problem resolution, continuous improvement projects and management reporting.
• Develop new manufacturing processes during new product development using designed experiments and other test methodologies, report on results.
• Perform lifetime testing and compile results for all products.
• Evaluate and monitor outsourced manufacturing vendors for compliance with quality standards. Perform on-site quality audits as needed.
• Design, implement and train staff on methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection procedures.
• Manage efficient and accurate revision control procedures for all manufacturing work instructions, procedural documentation, product drawings, BOMs and other product development documentation.
• Create management quality reports that include root cause analysis, statistical analysis, corrective actions and implementation planning.
• Support technical customer call center activities.
• Work with purchasing to establish and monitor supplier quality requirements.
• Work with sales and customer quality representatives to resolve problems and communicate corrective actions.
• Create and deliver training material on quality standards and activities throughout the company.
• Oversee product and manufacturing certifications per product as required.
Qualifications:
• B.S. preferred but will consider consider suitable experience in the optical component manufacturing industry. Requirements:
• 5-7 years experience in a successful process/quality control organization.
• Broad knowledge of six sigma, lean manufacturing, SPC/SQC.
• Industrial experience and background in optical or electro-optical manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with inspection criteria, quality boards and documentation.
• Experience with ISO 9001 certification and criteria.
• Strong computer skills to include document control systems, CAD systems, statistical analysis software, spreadsheets, word processing and databases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. assessments/audits and works directly with suppliers to resolve quality issues. He or she assists with the disposition of nonconforming supplied material and oversees quality control personnel performing measuring instrument calibration, receiving and final product inspection and testing. Additional duties may include internal quality system auditing and root cause analysis/corrective action.
