Title:               QA Specialist

Location:       Washington DC

QA Specialists assist in the definition and implementation of the overall QA strategic direction across the entire SDLC and to drive adoption and implementation that strategy.
They must demonstrate an understanding of formal QA methodology/processes as well as a clear understanding of major software development life cycle approaches and their implications on automated testing.
They must also have the ability to identify requirements for quality (processes, test methods, metrics, and reporting) and translate such requirements into procedures and ensure that such procedures are consistently applied and reported throughout the application development lifecycle.
They must have experience contributing to and developing QA policies and procedures. They will assist in the definition and implementation of the overall QA strategic direction across the entire SDLC and to drive adoption and implementation that strategy.
Knowledgeable and skilled in all aspects of information systems and quality management.
• Provide highly specialized and technical guidance to complex system quality management challenges.
• Ensure systems are compliant with standards and requirements.
• Work as a team member performing QA activities but may also work independently.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement and monitor the company's quality management system
- Assure that all product and processes adhere to the company's quality standards
- Oversee all aspects of the quality assurance process on multiple projects
- Lead cross-functional project teams responsible for defining and developing new ideas that improve overall productivity/quality
- Coordinate inspection procedures and compliance
- Follow-up on customer complaints and perform customer satisfaction surveys
- Lead non-conformance investigation, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree; Master's degree a plus
- 5 years of experience with growing responsibility in QA
- Metrics experience
- Highly refined organizational and time management skills; ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with multiple deadlines
- Process improvement experience
- Continuous improvement procedure experience
- Problem solving, decision making and conflict resolution skills and strong communication skills across all organizational levels
- Thorough conceptual understanding and practical application of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Ability to work in a project-based environment
- Proven ability to be proactive and exhibit initiative with very minimal supervision
- Proven ability to be detail, deadline, and results-oriented
