QC Microbiology Analyst I

Responsiblities:

  • Follow written procedures for the following tests, as trained and qualified: environmental air and surface sampling, water sampling and water testing for conductivity, TOC, bioburden, endotoxin and media qualification testing
  • Order, stock, receive, label, log and inventory lab supplies.
  • Receive and prepare test samples for QC and contract lab testing.
  • Perform support work for QC laboratory including lab cleaning, equipment cleaning and maintenance, preparation of reagents and solutions.
  • Perform lab administrative functions as assigned.
  • Perform all job functions in compliance with cGMPs and maintain accurate and legible laboratory records
  • Write and revise basic laboratory SOPs as assigned.
  • Perform in-process and product release and stability testing, as trained and qualified for: bioburden and endotoxin
  • Ensure training is current for all job functions performed. Attend all required company training.
  • Assist in other laboratory functions and testing as trained and assigned.
  • The individual in this position is expected to have a basic understanding of the laboratory environment and be familiar with basic laboratory equipment / instrumentation: pH meters, balances, BSCs, incubators, etc.
  • This position requires the individual to understand and follow written SOPs, record all work legibly and in real time; close attention to detail is necessary.
  • The person in this position will receive direct supervision on all non-routine activities. It is expected that routine activities will become unsupervised as training and competency develops.
  • A basic understanding of the concepts and systems applied to the tests and cGMP operations is expected.
