QSHE Manager
Summary of Position������������������
The QSHE Manager manages the following aspects of Quality and SHE:
Researches, drives, designs and manages Quality and Safety, Health and Environment protection programs and standards.
Ensures compliance with local, state,� federal, and corporate reporting and licensing requirements to maintain licenses and permits.
Ensures training and understanding in technical disciplines in SHE and Quality (Conduct HAZOPS, HMIS, Occupational Health & safety, Emergency Response - Redbook Drills, JSA, MOC, internal audits).
Drives injury/incident investigations and participates as a technical expert in QSHE.
Uses a team approach to effectively implement Best Practices for Quality and SHE (seeks other specialist resources when needed).
Ensures integration of the business processes, quality systems, and safety, health & environmental systems.
Ensures the department's performance and costs remain in line with the set service levels and standards for QSHE.
Sets and achieves QSHE goals and drives a positive safety and quality environment where each site team member can function and develop optimally.

Job Responsibilities
Deploys and develops appropriate QSHE objectives/ plan at the operational level in conjunction with the AE Quality Team and Corporate SHE to provide overall QSHE leadership to the site.��
Transforms the organization from one focused on conventional detection and containment to one focused on best-in-class prevention.
Manages site quality systems to exceed QSHE standard requirements, ISO 9001, TS 16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001; including leading the internal audit program and coordination of external audits.
Provides support in Total Quality Leadership to customers, suppliers, business partners, and the other support service functions.
Manages the QSHE strategy to facilitate continuous improvement, variation reduction, and production of products consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements driving to 100% conformance.
Drives rigorous metrics to evaluate QSHE performance in critical business processes.
Supports systems for managing supplier performance. Providing QSHE interface, expertise and support to the organization's suppliers and partners.
Administers, prepares and maintains all mandated environmental regulatory licenses, records and permits.
Reviews Local, State, Corporate, and Federal Regulations and develops plans and actions to assure compliance.
Manages all aspects of hazardous waste including policies and procedures, training, contracting with licensed disposal companies, and partnering with local, state, federal, or corporate agencies and contacts.
Monitors the accident/incident prevention program and works in close collaboration with site safety committees to insure that appropriate policies and procedures are followed.�
Recommends and drives improvements of existing QSHE programs.
Develops and pursues safety training programs to include Right-to-Know, fire and spill prevention, first aid, CPR, emergency procedures, contractor safety etc.
Performs QSHE inspections to ensure compliance, with recommendations for corrective measures being brought to the attention of site management.
Builds relationships with other Corporate resources in order to support identification, review, prioritization and execution of key improvements opportunities/ projects to drive results.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manages� QSHE personnel for the Salisbury site.
- Interacts with internal & external business partners at all levels.
Minimum Requirements
BS in Chemistry, engineering, environmental science, or other technical discipline.
Five+ years experience in a Quality AND SHE capacity including prior leadership experience.
Familiarity with quality and ERP systems.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Quality systems, including ISO9001, TS16949 and Six Sigma.
Broad technical knowledge in the areas of manufacturing processes, quality, plant engineering, production/materials planning and systems application.
Six Sigma Black Belt or ASQ CQM certification would also be beneficial.
Expertise or knowledge of chemical process safety and global product safety regulations, PSM, Responsible Care, MSDS creation, Title V Air-Water permit compliance, waste management and product stewardship.
Trained in the following regulatory requirements:
- Fed OSHA
- EPA
- ISO-14001 2004 Standards
- ISO - 9001 Standards
