This position reports to the Quality Manager of the business.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for analyzing engineering specifications and customer quality specifications, preparing quality plans, and investigating and resolving quality problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, schedules and directs the inspection of materials, parts, fixtures and gages in accordance with quality procedures and ensures that detailed inspection records are maintained and that rejected items are properly identified.
Investigates quality problems and participates in problem solving activities.
Supports Quality Manager in maintaining ISO / TS Quality System.
Position will be responsible for quality engineering functions, including writing control plans, PPAP's and action planning for Continuous Improvement.
Experienced programming and performing layouts using a CMM is a plus.
Will develop PPAP documentation for specific products: including quality auditing procedures and plans, PPAP's, Process Flow Diagrams, FMEA's, Inspection Reports. Will participate and / or lead the APQP process for specific programs, communicate with the customer as necessary to ensure all issues around assigned programs are resolved in a timely manner.
Develop gauging requirements for assigned programs. Monitor process capability to ensure required standards are maintained. Participate in Continuous Improvement programs. Perform vendor quality audits as required and respond to customer Corrective Action Requests.
Must have excellent verbal and written skills; Proficient in computer software including Word, Excel, Access;
Strong leadership skills; Willingness to work in the factory training quality auditors / on new programs as required;
Good problem solving skills; Familiar with 5-Why & 8D process;
Communicates well with others at all levels. This is a hands on position.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
4 Year College Degree
