SUMMARY

Perform a variety of quality control functions to ensure total quality standards for manufacturing processes, materials and products for operating units of the Data-Mail companies, as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.      Recommend and document quality control procedures in accordance with ISO 9000 Standards.

 

2.      Assist with the coordination of Quality Alert Notices (QAN’s) and input relevant information into Access database.

 

3.      Review and audit current quality control procedures for assigned area.  Recommend any change necessary to enhance the company’s ability to reduce quality costs.

 

4.      Review samples from outside vendors.  Assist in researching quality control issues for root cause and recommend corrective action, as required.

 

5.      Review and conduct spot checks of proofs prior to print or manufacture, as required.

 

6.      Act as client/vendor contact for audit checks.

 

7.      Coordinate and review quality or suppression  “pulls” according to various quality control parameters.

 

8.      Assist in developing training materials and conduct training programs for plant employees engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.

 

9.      Remain current with client security procedures and apply them, as required.

 

10.  Conduct client tours, presentations and training, as directed. 

 

11.  Act as key member or facilitate quality control improvement teams.

 

12.  Maintain an approved supplier database and visit suppliers to ensure company quality standards are maintained.

 

13.  Work on special projects, as directed.

 

14.  Remain current regarding postal regulations and mail piece design.  Interface with postal services representatives and officials, as needed.

 

15.  Comply with company rules and regulations.

 

16.  Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.

 

17.  Maintain a commitment to the quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department.

 

18.  Keep manager/director informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.

 

19.  Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

Two years of college with 3+ years of quality control experience in a direct mail environment or equivalent.

 

COMPETENCIES

 

·        Excellent written and communication skills.

·        Computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel and Access

·        Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships and influence others.
