Quality Analyst/Abstractor
The Quality Abstractor/Analyst working in the Quality Management Unit under general supervision of the Director, Quality Management, performs, reviews, and evaluates inpatient and ambulatory healthcare records to extract and analyze diagnostic procedural, demographic, and statistical information. Identifies and refers cases that do not pass criteria screens and second level reviews. Accurately provides department and individual provider reports from the system for medical staff and organizational-wide functions.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in nursing. Must have current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or in another state that participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact. Demonstrates knowledge of basic policies and procedures for all patient related departments and processes, i.e., Laboratory, Pathology, Diagnostic Imaging, patient abstract, medical staff rules and regulations, bylaws, and JCAHO requirements.
EXPERIENCE:
Two to five year’s clinical experience in acute-care setting. Computer experience. Quality assessment data abstracting and analysis experience preferred.
