Qualities:

 

Be knowledgeable in areas of Quality Assurance and Quality Control of surface finish, size and geometry of machined and ground parts.  Must be able to interpret and modify if necessary our quality manual, quality policies, quality procedures and quality plans.  Be familiar with by interpreting specifications, blue prints and other engineering documents.  Must possess quality leadership and supervisory skills accepting responsibility for self and subordinates’ activities, willing to be a team player working well with fellow employees both peers and subordinates while at the same time being in control and maintaining a professional demeanor.  Demonstrate problem solving abilities by identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner.  While gathering and analyzing information skillfully; developing alternative solutions; working well in group problem solving situations.  Able to multi task, track, expedite, schedule, and make logical decisions based on sound judgment.  Demonstrate professionalism through honesty, integrity courtesy and respect towards others, ethical behavior, keeping emotions under control, remain open to others’ ideas and try new things and maintain confidentiality.  Provide evidence of 4 years of college and / or equivalent experience in the area of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Management and Manufacturing in a machine shop environment.  Be able to demonstrate computer, math, verbal and writing skills.  Good eye sight (20/20, may wear corrective lenses).

 


Job Duties:

 

  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, procedures, policies and other engineering documents to create quality plans, review quotes and contracts, discuss quality issues with customers and others as necessary.
  • Provide prompt thorough customer service with the highest ethical standard at all times.
  • Respond to Quality audits and surveys.
  • Maintain calibration and maintenance records for inspection equipment.
  • Abide by and foster all company policies, safety rules, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Verify accuracy and calibrate gages, test and measurement equipment.
  • Examine inspection equipment for wear and / or damage.
  • Develop and analyze data as necessary.
  • Maintain quality records as appropriate.
  • Train employees on how to safely and completely perform their job.  By explaining in detail blue print attributes, specifications, policies, procedures, as well as, how to correctly use inspection equipment while following safety procedures.
  • Interview and hire new employee when approved.
  • Enforce all policies, safety rules and procedures and take the appropriate corrective/disciplinary action as warranted.
  • Plan, assign and direct work as necessary to assure quality parts on time per schedules and within budget/quote with acceptable profits.
  • Reward and discipline employees as appropriate.
  • Resolve problems in a timely manner using reason even when dealing with sensitive and/or emotional topics when necessary.
  • Appraise performance and complete performance reviews, investigate accidents and complete reports, etc.
  • Sets goals and objectives and works towards achieving them.
  • Builds positive team spirit, welcomes feedback, is objective to others’ views, builds morale and group commitment to goals and objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned and changed from time to time.
