Purpose
Provide Quality Assurance direction and support to manufacturing, engineering and supply chain to insure our products meet customer requirements. Ensure compliance with all ISO, Mil-Aero, ITAR and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
For the product lines you represent:
- Ensure external and internal customer satisfaction by driving improvements in the key quality areas of: conformance to manufacturing process requirements; scrap and warranty expense reduction; yield improvement; and Supplier Quality.
- Using the PKI Salem 8-D process, determine root cause and corrective actions necessary to resolve product quality issues.
- Partner with Supply Chain on Supplier Quality issues including: supplier qualification, defect reduction, and corrective actions. Reduce incoming inspection by insuring suppliers provide data on critical items.
- Support the PKI Operations Excellence program, particularly the Manufacturing Quality Systems process.
- Maintain and improve quality control/ assurance systems. Responsible for ISO internal and external quality audits and compliance. Participate in Quality Management Reviews.
- Work with engineering and operations to support New Product Introductions.
- Support First Article evaluation process, SAP inspection plans, MRB evaluations, and the new part qualification process.
- Perform other related duties of similar complexity as directed.
Critical Success Factors
- Technical Skills: A BS in Engineering, with a minimum of three years of experience as a Quality Engineer, preferably in a Mil-Aero environment. Experience with ISO Quality standard MIL specifications and ITAR regulations required. American Society of Quality Engineering and Six Sigma Black/Green Belt Certification are preferred. Communication Skills: Effectively communicates with and engages all levels of the organization verbally and in writing; translates technical decisions/strategies into business terms and implications; produces clear, understandable documentation geared for all audiences.
- Management of Resources: Allocates time and resources efficiently, focusing on ever-shifting priorities; continually seeks way to improve individual/team efficiency. Demonstrates ability to be an effective leader and manager in a matrix-reporting environment.
