Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans to ensure Websense solutions meet high quality standards.  Develops technical expertise in test methods and product knowledge.  Receives assignments from QA Manager and/or QA Lead and clearly reports test progress and quality risks.  

 

Essential Functions:

·         Develops and executes the test strategy (plans, cases, etc.) for assigned areas.

·         Logs defects into issues database and tracks them through closure. 

·         Configures workstations and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing.

·         Reports test results for assigned features and functionality.

·         May participate in the automation of tests.

·         Assists technical services staff in the resolution of customer escalations.

 

Expectations:

·         Demonstrates the ability to analyze a problem and complete detailed reports.

·         Able to methodically produce the steps which exhibit bugs in the product and is able to reproduce and communicate these steps.

·         Shows initiative in gaining in-depth experience in areas of technology relevant to testing of company products.

·         Works well in a team environment and alone.

·         Excels in an environment of continuous change.

·         Has strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

 

Qualifications:

·         Education: Formal education in computer science or equivalent experience.

·         Experience: Entry-level

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Windows products.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Experience with Unix/Linux

·         Experience with networking and/or communications protocols, especially TCP/IP.

·         Experience with 1 or more programming languages.
