Quality Assurance Lab Technician
SummaryPerforms laboratory test to ensure water control systems and food products meet specifications.
Compile, monitor and analyze data special projects as needed.Prepare analytical reports for internal and external contacts.Responsible for the effective utilization of all Quality Assurance Department resources and for participating on management teams to provide information or direction on special projects.
Duties:- Collect samples perform laboratory analyzes and prepare reports to regulatory agencies for water treatment, drinking water and storm water systems.
- Analyze and trouble shoot flow rates/test results/ production sop's to where data is used to justify improvement strategies.
- Insure proper operation of Auto-chlorination system.
- Perform analyses include determinations for sulfur dioxide, potassium sorbate, oil, volatile fatty acids, total suspended solids, glycerin (gas chromatographic method), moisture, water activity and brix.
- Responsible also for microbiological testing, including agar media preparation, plating, and counts.
- Responsible for cross-traning backup for monotoring & maintaining compliance of water control systems.
Communications:- Informs QA supervisor and appropriate production department of known or anticipated problems, and recommends corrective action.
- Ensures clear and timely communication to maximize quality, productivity and minimize down time.
- Present technical information or procedures to QA team, and play active role on quality management teams.
- Work under philosophy of: one cross-functional OPERATIONAL TEAM, rather than DEPT. SILOS.
- Effectivly use MS Word, excel and outlook.
