We are currently seeking a seasoned manager to lead a team and spearhead efforts to maintain the required biological quality assurance activities of the company. This is a direct hire opportunity with a growing organization in Atlanta.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Train and manage Biological Quality Assurance personnel in the performance of their jobs
· Assign tasks to BQA personnel based on priorities defined by the Production schedule
· Reviews activities for conformance to written specifications
· Performs employee appraisals and competency evaluations
· Conducts internal audits
· Participate in the writing and updating of SOPs for the department
· Carry out laboratory tests, when necessary
· Maintain time sheets on personnel
· Interview applicants for positions with in the BQA department
· Participates in investigations of product/process nonconformance as required (
· Assures that ass department employees follow applicable laboratory OSHA regulations such as chemical hazards and blood-borne pathogens
· Maintains a neat and clean department and files (5% of assigned tasks).
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Microbiology or Biology
· Prior experience with environmental monitoring (air and surface monitoring) and product sterility testing
· Experience with the BacT Alert is a plus
· At least 1-2 years of some level of supervisory experience is necessary, with a minimum 3-5 years total experience in industry.
