Description
The Quality Manager ensures all personnel follow
Duties and Responsibilities
The
essential duties and responsibilities are listed below. Other duties may be
assigned.
Performs spot in-bound inspection, in process
inspection and final inspection audits to ensure compliance with Quality
program.
Writes revisions to Plant Quality manuals and
ensures revisions are communicated to all affected employees.
Responsible for estimates meeting AAR
standards.
Ensures product meets customer expectation.
Evaluates and estimates repair work needed
using appropriate job, field, and office manual codes.
Stays current on all Railroad rules and
regulations to ensure inspection procedures and guidelines are met.
Works with EHS Coordinator to ensure Plant
work procedures and processes do not jeopardize employee safety.
Advises on a regular basis, General Manager,
Production Manager and Human Resources, regarding Quality training provided to
Workers, as well as upcoming Quality training needs and or procedures.
Occasional after-hours and weekend work
required.
Knowledge and Skills
To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual will posses the following
knowledge, characteristics, skills and/or abilities:
Knowledge and ability regarding Quality
Systems.
Capable of assessing Quality training gaps in
Plant Workers and to provide appropriate training.
Strong knowledge of MS Windows, Office, Word, Outlook and Excel.
Required ability to manage and prioritize
multiple tasks.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Excellent listening skills.
Ability to write clearly and concisely.
Ability to communicate effectively in English. Spanish language communication a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability
to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
Goal oriented and a strong customer service
attitude.
Desirable: BS Mechanical Engineering and/or
Industrial Engineering.
Minimum: High School diploma.
5+ years related work experience and
trade apprenticeship training including welding and railcar repair work.
2 years of work experience in Quality
Systems.
