Quality Assurance Manager

Woodland Foods is currently searching for a full-time Quality Assurance Manager to join the Quality Assurance team.  The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Quality Assurance Department, assuring company standards for food safety and quality are maintained and product integrity is preserved.  This position reports to the Director of Technical Services.


Responsibilities:




  • Confirm that plant audit procedures are properly carried out and assigned work schedules are maintained


  • Determine overall plant product quality by conducting and evaluating various product tests


  • Function as an information source for other departments when critical quality issues arise


  • Train all employees in GMP, HACCP, Food Safety and all related issues regarding the manufacture of food


  • Execute/interpret chemical, physical and microbiological food testing


  • Sit as key member on Safety Committee

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements:


Ideal candidates will possess five+ years Quality Assurance management experience within the food industry, a bachelor’s degree in a science, food science or related field of study and experience with regulatory agencies.  Strong leadership, supervisory and communication skills are required, along with the ability to motivate staff to meet departmental goals.  Must have strong customer orientation, the ability to multitask and strong statistical and computer skills (proficiency with Microsoft Office application).  Bilingual candidates preferred (Spanish/English).
