Quality Assurance Engineer - Lancaster, OH

Anchor Hocking seeks a results-driven Quality Engineer to support its glassware manufacturing operations. The manufacturing facility is located in Lancaster, OH, approximately 30 miles southeast of Columbus. Anchor Hocking manufactures a wide range glass products serving several markets, including Candle/Storage, Tabletop, Industrial & Lighting and Craft & Floral. Our products are distributed through multiple channels including OEM, Retail and Direct Sell. We are seeking a qualified, self-motivated, energetic individual who is excited about the opportunity to participate in Anchor's efforts to deliver world-class products to its customers.

This position will report to the Quality Assurance Manager. Approximately 10% travel will be required, mostly to the manufacturing facility in Monaca, PA (approximately 3 hour drive).

Position Description:

The Quality Engineer is a key participant in assuring compliance with Product Quality Standards. Overall responsibilities include the following:

1.      Plan, coordinate and direct quality control programs designed to ensure continuous improvement in manufacturing and product conformance to established quality standards.

2.       Supervise employees in the Quality Assurance Department as required.

3.       Teach and facilitate total quality management principles and support analytical reporting processes in all departments.

4.       Develop and analyze product specifications to determine quality standards and establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.

5.    Through the use of statistical data, create, implement and verify product inspection criteria and procedures,

6.       Assist in establishing product quality goals, metrics, and test methods during new product design and development.

7.       Directly and indirectly manage workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over finished product, packaging and source components.

8.       Lead investigation and resolution of product quality related customer complaints. This will involve some or all of the following: visits to customer sites, meetings, technical investigation/root cause analysis and management or product rework activities.

9.       Insure quality of all purchased components and sourced finished product through the development and management of an incoming inspection program.

10.   Act as change agent in challenging existing manufacturing and quality assurance approaches and performance metrics.

11. Define strategic initiatives to improve first-pass quality and productivity in the Manufacturing unit.
