Quality Assurance Manager

InPlast-Kentucky, a division of Plastikon Industries (Hayward, CA) is a plastic injection molding supplier with extensive capabilities to customize any engineering, tooling, molding and manufacturing needs.  Our growth as a supplier/partner in multiple industries, medical, automotive, electronics, has allowed us to concentrate and build on our core competencies – customer service, engineering and design, tooling design, build and maintenance, program management, and contract manufacturing.


We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Manager at our Leitchfield, KY operation to enhance our Quality System through active collaboration with customers (both internal and external) to achieve quality performance goals and continuous improvement of the organization.  It is the QA Manager's role to ensure that the Quality Management System is in place and in compliance with  ISO standards.  The QA Manager will develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and established proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.  Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other management team activities to ensure continuous control over materials and products.  Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability.  Serves as a management representative for Quality Management Systems and post production feedback/initiatives and works directly with customers to define requirements, solve quality issues and to promote a positive working relationship.


Skills/Qualifications:




  • Minimum 5 years relevant, plus 3 in a management role


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Production, or related field


  • Proven and successful quality track record associated with investigation and resolving problems with products, processes, documentation and inspection/audit methods


  • Familiarization with blueprints and a working knowledge of Microsoft Programs is required


  • Knowledge of statistical analysis such as DOE and SPC required


  • Experience with lean methods - Six Sigma, TPS a plus


  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and organizational information is necessary


  • Knowledge of production/engineering of injection molded plastics is a plus


  • Strong team player and motivated problem solver


  • Excellent communication and customer services skills
