Quality Assurance Manager

About the Job

? Responsible for managing the definition, implementation and integration of quality principles and processes into the design and development of software and IT processes. Ensures that quality methods and procedures are executed. Coordinates and facilitates the Testing & Quality Assurance activities across programs/projects within the portfolio supported. Designs, monitors and analyzes metrics for quality improvement initiatives. Provides guidance and subject matter expertise to development teams on Testing & Quality Assurance methodologies and processes.
? Accountable for all testing activities aligned to the portfolio.
? Reports to senior technology management and partners with Service Delivery leaders to drive continuous improvements in operational quality and performance.
? Works with development resources to drive improvements in overall testing processes and techniques.
? Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the Testing & Quality Assurance function.
? Defines and puts in place effective metrics to view context, trends and risks in Testing & Quality Assurance processes across the portfolio supported.
? Plans and validates program/project testing strategy, providing advice on prioritization of testing activity in support of identified risks.
? Ensures that adequate levels of Testing & Quality Assurance resources are available to meet program/project delivery schedule expectations.
? Assigns, supports and guides the Testing & Quality Assurance resources.
? Collaborates across multiple, cross-functional teams to skillfully execute on milestones and deliverables in a timely manner.
? Monitors, tracks and reports defects/risks and activity relating to resolution of defects across the portfolio supported (for example, defect ageing).
? Documents non-compliance to policies, process and standards and assists in their resolution.
? Monitors and communicates the progress of testing across multiple project/programs within portfolio supported, including reporting of budget, status, risks and issues (in relation to testing activity/defect resolution activity or number of change requests).
? Promotes continuous improvement in Testing & Quality Assurance services by maintaining best practices and knowledge repositories.

? Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field (or has equivalent work experience).
? Prior relevant industry experience within a testing/quality assurance discipline, with proven experience of a functional test/test automation or a performance test tool.
? Requires technical and business knowledge in multiple disciplines.
? Typically has any of the following test certifications:
QAI, ASQ, IIST, ISEB, ISTQB.
