Results-oriented hands-on leader to transform Quality Assurance and Documentation Management into strategic contributors to the business. Strengthen the Quality Management System and ensure compliance with all applicable ISO, ITAR, regulatory and customer requirements. This position is empowered to resolve quality issues for the site, including customer and supplier issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive measurable quality improvements. Ensure external and internal customer satisfaction by driving improvements in the key quality areas of: conformance to requirements; warranty expense; yield; Return Material and Supplier Quality. Represent the Quality team as part of the New Product Introduction Process.
Own and resolve customer quality issues. Using the 8-D process, determine root cause and corrective actions necessary to resolve product quality issues. Provide advice and support to business leaders and teams on QA issues/initiatives (e.g. problem solving, identification and escalation of significant QA issues).
Consolidate and integrate Quality Management and Documentation Control Systems. Provide day to day support and leadership necessary to integrate all key internal and external quality and documentation systems, processes, and information to ensure consistent product quality and drive overall Customer satisfaction. Ensure customer focus, audit ability and traceability within the business. Create and maintain strong data alignment between internal and external sources of quality data.
Manage and mentor the members of the Quality and Documentation Control Team.
Supervise and direct staff to perform the tasks required to support the responsibilities listed above.
Requirements
BA/BS with a technical concentration. Must be eligible to work on State Department controlled products (ITAR controlled).
A minimum five years of Quality Management experience.
Successful problem solving, process capability and similar analytical skills required; Six Sigma and ASQ Certification preferred.
Demonstrated ability to develop and mentor a high performing Quality and Documentation Control Team.
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001
MIL-Aero and ITAR familiarity strongly preferred.
Well-developed communication skills; ability to interact with external and internal Customers at all levels.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a low volume, high mix manufacturing environment.
Proficient in Office, Access, PowerPoint. SAP desirable.
