Quality Assurance Manager

Guild has an immediate opening for the position of Quality Assurance Manager at the company’s corporate office in San Diego, California.  At the direction of the VP of Compliance and Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Manager will oversee the company’s internal audit program, pre- and post-closing quality control program, and broker approval process. 


 


Duties include:


Internal Audit:


·         Collaborate with the VP of Compliance and Quality Assurance to develop and maintain company’s internal audit program with the objective of identifying internal control weaknesses.  Key focus areas will include (but not be limited to) loan servicing, loss mitigation, foreclosure, loan accounting, and branch audits. 


·         Perform ongoing maintenance of audit procedures to ensure compliance with investor guidelines, company policy, as well as state and federal laws. 


·         Lead an internal audit staff of two with a focus on documenting and assessing internal controls, as well as identifying weaknesses of financial, operational and compliance controls.


·         Collaborate with the VP of Compliance and Quality Assurance to prepare audit report summaries to senior management that identify areas of deficiency, present appropriate corrective actions, and promote sound internal controls that mitigate regulatory, financial and operational risks.


·         Track responses to findings, review for adequacy, evaluate and document ongoing improvement.


 


Post Closing QC:


·         Monitor and evaluate the company’s post closing third party quality control vendor.


·         Supervise the post-closing confirmation/re-verification process.


·         Provide guidance to staff.


·         Oversee the post closing quality control process flow to ensure timely completion of reviews.


·         Review findings, evaluate for areas of weaknesses and trends.


·         Prepare loan level response requests when warranted.


·         Collaborate with the VP of Compliance and Quality Assurance to prepare quarterly trending analysis reports to senior management that present appropriate corrective actions and recommendations.


·         Track responses to findings, review for adequacy, and evaluate ongoing improvement.


 


Pre Closing QC:


·         Supervise the company’s pre-funding quality control program on third party originations. 


·         Provide guidance to staff.


·         Evaluate findings and prepare broker termination letters and/or take other action as directed by the VP of Compliance and Quality Assurance.


 


Broker Approvals:


·         Monitor the initial and ongoing approval process for third party originators.


·         Provide guidance to staff.

Requirements:


·         Bachelors Degree in Accounting.


·         Minimum 3-5 years mortgage banking experience and / or public accounting preferably with a banking concentration.


·         Some travel required.
