KS location, (near Wichita) LARGE manufacturing company needs a Quality Assurance Manager. Will plan, develop, enhance and maintain a Quality Management System that provides continuous improvement to all products manufactured by the organization in order to meet or exceed customer specifications.
Accountabilities: Manages time, money, and resources available to efficiently respond to any requirement related to the quality of the system or product in a prioritized, quantifiable manner.
Provides departmental and company leadership promoting the use of key management principles. Supervision of direct reports and others related to the quality department function.
Assumes the responsibilities of the ISO Management Representative, monitoring and managing the Quality Management System, (QMS). Facilitates the QMS Management Review meetings. Formulate and maintain quality objectives coordinated with the business, product and customer expectations in mind. These objectives wil be reviewed periodically to ensure that the quality direction is in line with the company's objectives. Plan, allocate and manage departmental budget to the Annual Operating Plan. Directs and facilitates the collection and analysis of data to quantitatively and statistically provide direction for quality activities. Works with appropriate manufacturing personnel and assigns appropriate quality personnel to resolve discrepancies and to plan for continuous improvement in the products and/or systems. Work with suppliers, quality reps., and company personnel to resolve discrepancies and to plan for continuous improvement. Assign appropriate quality personnel to assist Manufacturing and Design Engineering during pilot runs of prototype units to determine undocumented quality requirements and/or test procedures that should be added to the appropriate documents. Work with all depts. to exchange quality information. Monitors corrective actions.
Education: BS in Science, Engineering or Technology, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or equivalent required. MUST have a four year degree.
TRAINING/KNOWLEDGE: This position requires a person who possesses good interpersonal skills and demonstrates the ability to work with others efficiently and effectively either one-on-one, as a team, or ina group. He/she must possess a positive attitude with self motivation. Must be able to communicate effectively with good verbal skills and writing skills and have the ability to utlize problem solving skills and techniques to achieve problem resolution. Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing/Kaizen Event, Problem Solving Disciplines 5D, 6D, 7D, 8D). Effective use of quality tools and techniques to assist in determining compliance to specifications, trends, capabilities and opportunities for continuous improvement is required. Problem solving skills may include: Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, Process/Design Failure Mode Analysis.
EXPERIENCE: 7-10 years relevant experience in manufacturing and production processes required. Direct experience with a quality function and/or quality nrelated responsibilities. Prefer experience in the AUTOMOTIVE or AGRICULTURAL equipment manufacturing industries. Direct experience in team facilitation, and group leadership required. Previous supervisory or management experience, skills and responsibility are preferred and may be required.
