QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST

Quality Assurance Specialists will provide testing support for TG applications development and support teams. Ensure quality by developing and executing rigorous, standardized testing practices. Investigate and report failures, deficiencies, and out of specification results for the purposes of monitoring compliance with standards, specifications, and overall product quality. Specialists will also coordinate, load, control and manipulate system test data for all application system testing needs.
EDUCATION REQUIRED: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems. Equivalent training and/or experience may be substituted for degree requirements on a year for year basis.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED: Four years combined experience in information technology quality control in a distributed system, web-based environment or mainframe environment, with increasing levels of responsibility. Specialist must have the ability to organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities/tasks, be able to communicate effectively, and must possess mediation skills. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, strong problem solving skills and be able to handle several concurrent activities at once. Must have a solid foundation with the following Mercury Quality Center products: QuickTest Pro, LoadRunner, and Test Director. Must have a solid foundation in the following technologies: SQL, DB2, J2EE, BEA WebLogic, IIS Web Server, IPlanet User Authentication, Crystal Enterprise, VBScript or JavaScript, VSS (or other version control system), and UML.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: • Certifications in Quality Assurance
• Test Director Administration
• Experience creating automated scripts, conducting performance testing and analyzing test results using Mercury LoadRunner.
• Knowledge and familiarity with mainframe operating environments and JCL.
