QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST
CURRENT FOOD MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE

Our client company is a leading food manufacturer.  They have an immediate need for a Quality Assurance Specialist in the corporate facility.  This position is open due to the promotion of the current employee. Candidate must be willing to travel 50% of the time to their contract manufacturing facilities. Company offers excellent compensation, benefits and relocation.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related field REQUIRED
  • 4+ years experience in Quality Assurance in a food manufacturing environment
  • Must have conducted audits on external contract manufacturing sites
  • Able to travel up to 50% with potential weekend stays
  • Detailed knowledge of regulatory and quality system requirements ( HACCP, GMP's )
  • Ability to make tough decisions regarding potential/existing external business partners based on audit findings
  • Ability to interact with all levels ( VP to Production )
  • In depth understanding of a production / manufacturing environment
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Auditing potential and existing contract manufacturing/packing facilities to ensure compliance with company standards and government regulators
  • Serve as Quality Assurance representative for product start ups at the contract manufacturing facilities
  • Implement quality systems and programs to ensure standards are consistently achieved
  • Conduct quality systems audits across Supply Chain to ensure compliance standards are met
  • Provide training on regulatory issues and quality programs
  • Direct troubleshooting incidents including those with financial and regulatory impacts
  • Act as Quality Assurance representative on multi-functional project teams
  • Travel to contract manufacturing facilities
