Description
Responsible for the activities involved in assuring the quality of all products produced in a shift, in a five- day per week operation to meet company service, quality, cost, safety and people objectives. This includes development, implementation and monitoring of programs for: - HACCP
- Lot traceability of ingredient, packaging and finished goods
- Supplier certification
- Microbiological testing of product
- Measuring quality and safety of ingredients for WIP and finished product
- Measuring process control and adherence to specifications
- Measuring controls for the environment
- Evaluating product and releasing it for shipping
Responsibilities: - Supervises the Quality Control Technicians.
- Provides specifications on the all lines (finishing and baking)
- Monitors the product quality and documentation to ensure product complies with specifications on all three shifts.
- Monitors the organization of the retain samples (library) program.
- Follow up with implemented programs to ensure compliance with GMP's by all employees and other personnel in the production facility.
- Aids in the administration of environmental monitoring programs to evaluate the efficacy of sanitation methods.
- Monitors employee practices to aid in a pest-free environment.
- Develops and implements new methods, procedures, and systems to improve quality performance.
- Supervises operations to comply with all applicable safety laws and regulation, as well as Company safety policies, procedures and standards
- Maintains a fair and professional work environment that focuses the business objectives, but also balances quality of work- life factors for employees.
- Develops and maintains training and development programs that support key performance goals for the Company, as well as provide a satisfying and rewarding work environment for employees.
- Manages operations to maintain a SUPERIOR rating from the annual AIB inspections.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years experience in related field.
- Basic Technical Writing Skills
- Good communication skills
- B.A. or B.S. degree in the field of science (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science or Technology, etc).
