Job Summary:


 


The ideal candidate must possess: a strong commitment to customer satisfaction; an uncompromising work ethic; a high degree of motivation; a strong focus on detail; and solid communication skills.  This person will integrate all aspects of M&TE asset management to support uncertainty estimations of company M&TE as well as customer instrumentation.  Some of aspects of asset management include: interval analysis, Type ‘A’ studies, calibration data analysis, proficiency testing, control charting of intermediate checks.  In addition, this person will assist in the expansion into new measurement arenas for any of DTI’s locations by researching approved methods and developing uncertainty budgets.  The candidate might also perform routine quality assurance inspections, audits, and validations. 


Responsibilities:



  • Analyze calibration reports and drift data
  • Update calibration correction tables
  • Perform interval analysis
  • Develop, test and analyze Type A studies
  • Create inter-laboratory comparison procedures and perform statistical analysis of the data
  • Calculate measurement uncertainty for multiple disciplines ranging from bench top instrumentation to calibrators
  • Analyze the impact of out of tolerance standards and perform instrument recall when necessary,
  • Perform other laboratory support functions as required in an efficient and orderly manner,

Skills/Abilities Required:



  • Apply basic statistical tools in Microsoft Excel
  • Build and analyze control charts
  • Estimate measurement uncertainty using the GUM method
  • Operate in Microsoft Word and Access environments
  • Focus on detail and goals
  • Work independently
  • Self-starter

Educational / Experience Required:



  • High school graduate with some college,
  • Completed Military PMEL course
  • A minimum of 5 years calibration in the electrical field and one year quality experience
  • Functional knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z-540-1 requirements
