Quality Assurance Tester
COMSYS is in need of a Quality Assurance Tester for a 12 month contract in Phoenix, Arizona.
Position Description:
-Uses advanced knowledge in the creation, preparation, and conduct of quality assurance reviews and the development and execution of test plans and test scripts
-Works with client to establish and maintain a consistent test methodology and to resolve questions during the testing process
-May serve as a coordinator for all testing activities on a project
-Analyzes, tests, and certifies application-specific software and performs ambiguity reviews of business requirements and functional specification documents
-Uses knowledge of applications to provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and resolving complex test problems
-Participates in planning and directing quality assurance schedules and assignments, and monitoring project status in comparison to cost/time projections
-Logs, tracks, and verifies resolution of software and specification defects
-Documents all phases of QA process
-Researches new products and industry methodologies and provide inputs in the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards
-May be responsible for designing and distributing training materials
Qualifications:
-Experience in the software QA and/or Development, with experience working on 3 or more projects from requirements inception to product release
-Experience with testing web-based applications developed in J2EE (Java) or .NET framework
-Strong understanding of MS SQL Server and Oracle databases and constructing/executing SQL queries
-Experience with Data Migration testing Experience with Windows and UNIX (Sun Solaris/HP) server navigation
-Experience running batch commands, scheduled jobs, and reviewing output, logs, etc. on each platform
-Experience with Mercury Test Management tools (Quality Center, Test Director) and ClearQuest Defect Tracking tool, or similar defect tracking tools
-Ability to work in cross-functional teams across multiple levels of the organization
-Ability to work independently
-Ability to multi-task
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
-Familiarity with XML and web services testing Mainframe / DB2 testing experience
-HP Quick Test Pro test case automation experience (beyond simple record and playback methodology)
-Financial Services Industry experience
