Provides timely inspection of gas turbine assemblies (coordinated with the GT production team) and reports any defects or deviations to Quality Control Supervisor and GT Production Manager prior to the next operation step; ensures Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) are resolved before next operation steps are performed and all required paperwork is processed accordingly
Collects all order-related production documents, documents intermediate steps as well as final measurements, and ensures the operation sequences are being kept and all operations are complete
Ensures that all measuring equipment and devices are being periodically checked and calibrated, and that they are clearly labeled and properly maintained, according to the Quality manual
Ensures proper part protection at receiving of parts, prior to the next operation, and at shipping of parts
Maintains operation time in SAP System, ensures all EHS relevant procedures and instructions are being followed, and performs other duties as assigned
Five (5) years manufacturing experience in medium or heavy manufacturing industries, solid knowledge as a quality inspector in medium or heavy manufacturing industry
Demonstrated ability and experience using micrometers, gauges, calipers, and other precision measuring equipment
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and production procedures
Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc)
Self-motivated and acts as an example for other employees
Ability to support a team and make appropriate decisions
Ability to work autonomously
Ability to analyze problems in a systematic way to work out best solutions
Performance oriented and reliable
Power generation experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
ASQ certification as a CQT or CMI desired preferred
Visual or mechanical inspection certification an advantage
Knowledgeable in the use of the metric system preferred
Ability to read, write, understand and clearly speak the English language
Ability to read, write, understand and clearly speak the French and/or German language preferred
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to: frequent sitting, standing, and walking; frequent computer use, frequent telephone use; frequent climbing and balancing on large equipment; frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching; frequent lifting or moving up to 25 lbs.; occasional lifting or moving up to 75 lbs.; work with hand tools to perform duties
