Quality Control Specialist/Associate Quality Assurance

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for testing new and existing functionality in hardware products.   Provide comprehensive inspection and testing of all computer equipment repaired at the facility.  Responsible for filling all PC Hot Spare orders and notifying the appropriate personnel if equipment is unavailable. 

JOB DUTIES

• Ensure that PC Hot Spare orders are filled with the correct equipment and notify warehouse of orders ready to ship.
• Use quality control test programs to diagnose equipment repaired by technicians
• Ensure a top quality product is plased into the ready-to-ship inventory by following forcing established quality control procedures.
• Maintain and update test documentation, user guides, release notes, and help notes to ensure accuracy of applications and related documentation.
• Understands the business needs the product is trying to meet and applies this understanding to guide testing. Applies a comprehensive understanding of the product functions.
• Generate a Quality Assurance Report for tested/inspected equipment.
• Generate and attach a Quality Assurance Report to equipment that has failed inspection.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 2+ years as a Quality Control Inspector, tester, or the equivalent training and/or related work experience.
• General knowledge of MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows operating environment.
• General understanding of QC/QA processes and procedures.
• Working knowledge of computer diagnostic software, such as Norton Utilities, sufficient to troubleshoot a PC.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. repeatedly
• Quality testing fundamentals 
• Understands the product from the customer end-to-end point of view.
• Communicates effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills.
