Quality Control Team Leader 2nd Shift
Summary
Responsible for managing a staff of six technicians, as well as for the plants Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance program to ensure compliance with company and government procedures. Inspect and audit the operation in all phases of quality performance (raw materials, production, packaging and distribution).
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following:
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises six employees in the Quality Control Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and direction work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Ensure all product formulations are produced in accordance with QA analytical specifications.
Provide techical assistance, and coordinate plant trials with R&D with all new products.
Investigate root cause of consumer complaint and provide direction to the plant to address process improvement and consumer complaint corrective actions.
Perform Quality/Haccp/GMP internal audits with corrective actions.
Knowledge to assess and make appropriate decisions in a fast paced environment
Education and /or Experience
Bachelor Degree (B.A) form four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in the food or beverage industry is a must.
Progressive management experience with proven leadership skills.
Solid experience in training/developing hourly employees.
Previous experience in a food or beverage manufacturing enviroment is a must.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write report, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to question from groups of manager, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamental of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
