Overview of Position:
Quality Control Team Leader– is responsible for analysis of all incoming raw materials to determine whether they meet KK specifications.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
· Developing product through sensory evaluation of ingredients and finished products
· Determining moisture and fat content of intermediate baking lab products
· Analyzing flour tailings
· Updating ingredient data files to determine statistical trends
· Collecting random samples of flour, mix and raw ingredients for analysis
· Testing of outside account base mixes to determine if they meet the customers’ specifications
· Troubleshooting for baking lab.
· Other duties as assigned
Essential skills and Experience:
· American Institute of Baking, Quality Bakers of America and/or comparable training and experience required.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel or similar software
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
· High level of motivation
· Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
Nonessential skills and Experience:
· Working knowledge of sensory evaluation theory and methodology
· Ability to use, analyze and interpret sensory evaluation techniques and data collected from such testing.
· Lab equipment and procedures: Brabender amylograph/farinograph, moisture tester, and solid fat index determination; CEM moisture/fat analyzer; Bradley sonic sifter; Buchi protein analyzer; Goldfish fat extractor; Percon Inframatic 8620; Brinkmann pH meter; Mettler dropping point apparatus; Brookfield Viscometer and Rdesign Risograph.
