Manages all project quality issues and documents as per Inspection and Test plan (I&T) and submits them to the customer
Acts as the interface among final customer, Alstom Project Quality Manager, suppliers and Alstom Chattanooga departments (Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing, etc) for all issues linked to I&T Plan
Analyzes and approves the Supplier's Data Book (End Manufacturing/inspections report and material certificates) based on the I&T Plan
Prepares and keeps the inspection schedule under control, issues the inspection notification and coordinates the inspectors from third party agencies, if any
Coordinates, controls and manages the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) and gets the disposition on-time, upholds and participates in the company quality and EHS programs, and performs other duties as assigned
Associate degree or technical certification
Bachelor degree in engineering preferred
Two (2) years of experience coordinating quality activities for mechanical equipment in heavy/industrial manufacturing
Knowledge of quality control standards (U.S. codes) and process improvement tools
Ability to develop positive relationships with clients and inspectors
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge and ability to understand the process of manufacturing, including welding and machining for heavy industrial engineered-to-order and forging/casting materials
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality System, process application/definition, and internal audits of quality system
Familiarity with quality aspects of the ASME, DIN, EN, ANSI, ASTM, etc. preferred
Knowledge of quality control standards (European codes) preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Project preferred
Proficiency in statistical process control and statistical analysis preferred
Ability to read, write, understand and clearly speak the English language
Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including but not limited to: frequent sitting, standing, and walking; frequent computer use; frequent telephone use; some lifting or moving up to 25 lbs.
