Quality Coordinator

About the Job

Columbia United Providers is a regional health plan located in Vancouver, WA. We are currently recruiting for a Quality Coordinator to work in our Health Management Department. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to coordinating the development, implementation, and oversight of specified quality improvement and/or health management programs and special projects.  If hired, the candidate will research, implement, maintain, monitor, and document program and project activities as necessary to ensure improvement in clinical outcomes and compliance with relevant state & accreditation standards.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Coordination of QI Activities - Coordinates Quality Improvement activities and resources for designated clinical domains.
  2. Special Projects - Researches, coordinates, facilitates, and prepares material for special projects with minimal supervision.
  3. Health Management – If Health Management activities are required: researches, coordinates, facilitates, and manages health management programs for members.
  4. Departmental Quality - Demonstrates awareness of organizational costs and efficiencies related to quality activities.  Participates in CUP, departmental, and external educational programs.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Knowledge of NCQA, State, and Federal standards for Quality Improvement.
  2. Demonstrated ability to create and deliver presentations to large/influential groups.
  3. Demonstrated leadership skills and project management experience.
  4. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel.
  5. Ability to work with a minimal degree of supervision
  6. Ability to perform detailed work efficiently and within a high degree of accuracy
  7. Excellent oral and written communication skills applied in a professional setting.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1-2 years experience in an HMO environment preferred.  3-5 years Quality Improvement and Disease Management experience preferred.  Demonstrated experience using IDX software.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare administration. 5 years additional relevant experience in a Healthcare environment.  Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
