Our Client, an Aviation Company considered by many to be "The World Standard in Business Aviation", has an immediate need for TWO QUALITY ENGINEERS, LEVEL II, for a long-term contract.

Job Summary for Quality Engineer II:

In a team-oriented environment, the Quality Engineer II performs all tasks in a timely and efficient manner, to support the Inspection/Quality System, ensuring that all aspects of the delivered/finished article:


  • Are manufactured in accordance with approved Quality System requirements.
  • Are certified as compliant with Type Design requirements and/or compliant with in-service limitations for Repair Station activities.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:


  1. Manage compliance of the suppliers' or Company facilities' Quality activities through the application of system, product and process audits to the FAA-approved data requirements.
  2. Certify or assess a supplier's Quality System, personnel, processes and equipment, as required, according to the applicable Quality standards.
  3. Perform surveillance, source inspections, and first article inspections at suppliers' foreign or domestic facilities, and/or monitor the inspection system performance throughout all Company Operations, Materials and Repair Stations.
  4. Coordinate Quality Assurance program plans.
  5. Monitor and modify audit schedules.
  6. Evaluate Acceptance Test programs and Company suppliers' or facilities' Quality Engineering requirements, and review to ensure program effectiveness and integrity.
  7. Witness and validate acceptance, qualification, interchangeability, configuration and compatibility tests.
  8. Provide Company liaison support for supplier and/or facility.


Additional Functions:


  1. Conduct product, system and/or process failure investigations.
  2. Provide technical assistance in resolution of Quality problems.
  3. Verify that required corrective action implementation is timely and effective.
  4. Perform Trend Analysis of audit results in order to identify Quality System deficiencies.

Requirements:

Required Skills for Quality Engineer II include the following:


  1. Bachelor's Degree in a related curriculum

    • Six (6) years of related experience with two (2) years of related formal education may be substituted for the Bachelors Degree or an A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) license or ASQ (American Society for Quality) certification as a Quality Technician, Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Auditor or FAA DMIR/DAR designation
    • Certifications/licenses shall be accompanied with six (6) years of aircraft-related technical experience of continually increasing responsibility to include at least four (4) years of emphasis in Quality Control/Quality Assurance


  2. ASQ Certification as Quality Engineer or Quality Auditor preferred
  3. A&P license preferred
  4. Six (6) years of aircraft-related technical experience of continually increasing responsibility to include four (4) years specific to the appropriate Quality department
  5. Material Review Board experience highly desired, especially with suppliers

    • Position will require review of data from suppliers prior to entry into the tracking system as well as coordination with suppliers regarding correction/additional data as needed
    • Other duties include coordination/review with other Engineering groups to reconcile issues with supplier discrepancies
