Position Description

Quality Engineer IV

KEYS:
Bachelors Degree in a technical field is required.
Must have 7-10 years related experience in quality-related work. 
Must have at least 2 to 5 years aerospace composite experience.
Must have aerospace experience. 
Must have experience BAC 5578 requirement.
Working knowledge of the intent and application of the quality principles of Quality standards (ISO 9001 & AS 9100).
Must have experience with MS Office, MRP, and MRP II systems.
Must have extended computer hardware and software knowledge.
Experience on Spacial Analyzer, Mastercam, CATIA, Verisurf, Discus, Net-Inspect, and Microsoft Office.  Experience with PCDIMIS Software.
Statistical Process Control and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing required.
Experience with Digital Inspection techniques
Must have a minimum 1500 hours of FARO and Laser Tracker Inspection methodology.
Some background in Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma is preferred.
Experience with the following requirements is highly preferred: BAC 5578, BAC 5317, BAC 5980.

JOB SUMMARY:
Directs and implements quality compliance and defect prevention for assigned contracts.  Activities are concerned with the development, application and maintenance of quality standards for company processes, materials, and products. Develops and implements continuous process improvement activities.  Trains and mentors Quality Engineers II and III. Supports on all Quality Qualification and lead the effort.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
" Assists with the preparation of Quality Engineering cost estimates, justifications, and task descriptions for company proposals on lean manufacturing process and reduce cost.
" Assists with directing the quality elements of the manufacturing process.  Planning includes reviewing the contract, drawings, specifications, regulatory and government standards, and company procedures. In addition will require interrogating Model Base Definition Models, Catia V5, and Digital Product Definition.
" Plans all the steps necessary to perform effective product evaluation.  This includes inspections instructions, measuring and testing equipment, test/inspection requirements and criteria, documentation requirements, compliance requirements, process maps, sampling plans, quality plans, source requirements, and first article requirements as required. Will require creating Work Order Instruction and Measuring Plans using MBD, DPD and Catia V5.
" Must provide the following support and understanding:
" Provides technical support as required to all product acceptance functions to clarify and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
" Provide Quality Assurance support on the control and handling of digital data
" Understanding and working knowledge of digital data on various platforms (FARO Arm and Laser Tracker, CMM)
" Update, upgrade and/or replace QA software through surveying needs and maintaining awareness of technological developments. Select software upgrades/replacement, and then manage software to ensure software reliability and cost effectiveness to meet new and changing requirements.
" Initiates Material Review activities for timely disposition of nonconforming material/products.  Initiates Corrective/Preventative action as required.
" Acts as customer liaison on quality issues and responds to customer complaints and corrective action requests as required.
" Provides source inspection, and supplier identification as required.
" Participates in supplier and internal quality audits.
" Analyzes inspection and test data for problem resolution and process improvements.  Provides statistical support for improvement teams.
" Is a lead auditor for internal audits.
" Participates in improvement teams as needed.
" Trains personnel in process improvement and statistical techniques.
" Leads customer and third party audits.
" Lead Qualification efforts on:
" Hot Drape Forming Machine
" ATL; Automatic Tape Layer
" Noodle Machine
" Clean room requirements
" Any other associated requirements to fulfill the need on new customer driven qualification requirements. (BAC 5578, BAC 5317, BAC 5980)
